“In reaction to fan backlash to negative reviews, Rotten Tomatoes had to disable user commentary for the film leading up to its release. Some fans had threatened violence against critics while others threatened to take down the website of movie critics who had given the film a negative review.”
An minor (and almost unnoticed) tragedy revolving around TDKR is this one where a website and film reviewers can’t voice their opinion on the film due to threats. So what? The critic didn’t enjoyed, didn’t like the movie but that doesn’t need such heated reaction from the audience. Where’s the respect for a person’s ideas and thoughts? Criticism is not all about praise what everybody likes, it’s also sometimes to swim against the current, and say what it’s pertinent to be said, with care and relevant ways of being against something/someone. That doesn’t mean attack professionals who do their job.
